The Bushcamp Company has partnered with Conservation Science Africa (CSA) at Chiwawatala Basic School and has constructed an environmentally friendly organic market garden that will be providing Mfuwe Lodge and Bushcamps with organically-grown vegetables.
Conservation Science Africa is a Botswana-based Conservation Company that works regionally in Botswana, Kenya, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Their focus is on community-based Eco-Initiatives in and around Africa’s wildlife and wilderness areas.
Guests of Mfuwe Lodge and The Bushcamp Company are now enjoying organic vegetables and salads from the Chiwawatala garden site and also from daily deliveries by our local organic growers . It’s great to support the community as we are now growing or purchasing 80% of our vegetables locally.
In conjunction with growing for Mfuwe Lodge we are now launching our Eco-Initiative Training programme for the community where they will have the opportunity to train on one of our sites of their choice and benefit from learning the skills that the CSA team can teach them and take back into their villages which will allow them to provide good quality vegetables for their family whilst preserving the environment they are living in.
