The Bushcamp Company has long been committed to improving the lives of the people of the Luangwa Valley. In the past year many ongoing projects were completed and new ones initiated, and 2014 will see even more ambitious projects taking place. Thanks to the help and support of many of our guests and generous donors, we have been able to start work on more school buildings and facilities, drill boreholes, provide more meals, increase our individual school sponsorship scheme, and allocate educational resources. We are particularly excited about our “girl empowerment” projects which already bearing fruit.
In October 2013, the “Expert Group Meeting on Sustainable Tourism: Ecotourism, Poverty Reduction, and Environmental Protection” was held in New York at the United Nations Headquarters. Around 50 experts in the field from academia, NGOs, governments, and the private sector attended the meeting. The Bushcamp Company was selected as a case profile of “Best Practice in Sustainable Tourism.”
