Did You Know... elephants have a 'temporal gland' which lies between the eye and the ear? It 'weeps' in response to a variety of situations, such as excitement, mating behavior and even during family reunions. Some elephants rub the resulting discharge on tree trunks, possibly to leave behind a chemically scented message to other elephants.
