Dear subscriber

Did you know... although South Luangwa still boasts a healthy population, lion numbers are still in decline across many parts of Africa? These cats once ranged across the continent, into the middle east, and even into northwest India, but now they are mainly confined to eastern and southern Africa. Currently, habitat loss and conflicts with humans are considered the most significant threats to the species. The remaining populations are often geographically isolated from each other, which can lead to inbreeding, and consequently, a lack of genetic diversity.
