Did you know...
The impala mating season is about to begin? Mature males often clash
over females, using their horns as weapons in contests to establish dominance. These
fights are seldom fatal, as the ridges on the horns reduce the chance of slipping and
the thickened skin on the forehead, neck and shoulders of males helps to prevent serious
injury.
