Just minutes from Mfuwe Airport lies one of the most extraordinary surprises in the entire BCC experience: our 54-hectare farm, thriving in the heart of the Luangwa Valley.
This is where nearly every herb, vegetable, and piece of fruit served across all our camps begins its journey. Grown in the rich Zambian soil by the very families we’ve partnered with for more than twenty-five years, your salad, your side of roasted root vegetables, your perfectly ripe mango at breakfast — everything arrives on your plate at its seasonal peak, grown nearby, harvested fresh, and unmistakably of this place.
The result is flavour you can taste: vibrant, fresh, and entirely of this valley. Nothing is wasted. Surplus harvests are turned into small-batch jams, marmalades, chutneys, and sun-dried preserves that carry the taste of the valley back to your table throughout your stay.
Beyond the plate, the farm creates meaningful, year-round employment for local families — strengthening the deep roots BCC has always had in this community.
And for guests at Mfuwe Lodge or The Villas at KuKaya, we can arrange an unforgettable meal right on the farm itself: tables set beneath the trees, ingredients picked while you watch, and the full story of your food told where it all begins. It’s a moment that turns every bite into something far more than dinner — it becomes a memory you’ll carry long after you leave the bush.
In addition to providing produce for the lodge, the Farm also provides training and employment to our local community.
