Andy Hogg Retires as Managing Director of The Bushcamp Company

After many years of tireless dedication, vision, and leadership, we offer a heartfelt thank you to Andy Hogg as he retires from his role as Managing Director of The Bushcamp Company at the end of 2025.

From the very beginning, Andy was instrumental in shaping what The Bushcamp Company has become. What started as a bold idea rooted in a love for wild places and authentic safari experiences grew — under Andy's stewardship — into one of Zambia's most respected safari companies. His fingerprints are on every chapter of our story: from the earliest camps to the culture we uphold today.

Andy's contribution goes far beyond business. He has been a passionate ambassador for Zambian tourism, helping place Zambia firmly on the global safari map through experiences that prioritize integrity, wilderness, and genuine connection. His belief in low-impact, high-value tourism set standards that many have followed.

Equally important has been Andy's unwavering commitment to Zambian communities. He understood that conservation and tourism only succeed when local people thrive alongside them. Through these beliefs, Andy stewarded Bushcamp's resources into local training initiatives, meals for kids, community bore holes, education initiatives, community infrastructure, and much more to create lasting benefit for those who call this valley home.

Andy has also been a steadfast advocate for conservation. His respect for Zambia's wildlife and ecosystems shaped how our camps were built, how they operate, and how we engage with the land. His leadership reinforced the belief that protecting wild places is not optional — it is our responsibility.

For many of us, Andy has been more than a managing director or co-founder. He has been a mentor, a sounding board, and a steady presence during both challenges and triumphs. His passion, humility, and deep love for Zambia have inspired countless people along the way.

While we will miss Andy's day-to-day involvement going forward, his legacy will remain woven into the fabric of The Bushcamp Company — into our camps, our people, and our purpose.
