Mfuwe Lodge and The Villas at KuKaya sit just inside the main gate of South Luangwa National Park — where most BCC journeys begin, and where many guests choose to return.
Mfuwe Lodge is South Luangwa’s most iconic property. Award-winning, set among lagoons in one of the park’s most prolific game areas, and famous for the family of wild elephants that walks through the lobby each November. Game drives, walking safaris, pool, spa, and full air-conditioning — the perfect place to settle into the rhythm of the valley.
The Villas at KuKaya offer something rarer: a completely private safari experience, with each villa coming with its own dedicated guide and vehicle. For families, couples, and small groups who want South Luangwa entirely on their own terms.
Both properties are open year-round and serve as the gateway to the BCC Bushcamp circuit — six remote camps in an exclusive 140,000-acre wilderness concession inside the park, where the valley reveals itself in all its depth. The wildlife here is extraordinary from day one. But the further you go, the wilder and more connected to our safari heritage it gets.

Award-winning Mfuwe Lodge is the gateway to South Luangwa National Park. Set just inside the main entrance of the park, 18 thatched chalets are arranged around two lagoons, allowing for afternoons of daily armchair game-viewing. The swimming pool and spa offer plenty of opportunities for some R&R. Guests enjoy game drives or walking safaris in a wildlife-rich section of the park.
