A Note On Our Ownership History

Mfuwe Trails Zambia Limited (operating as The Bushcamp Company) was incorporated and commenced operations in South Luangwa National Park, Zambia, in 1999.

In 2008, the company was acquired by Martius Properties SARL, a Luxembourg-based entity associated with Vulcan Inc. and the estate of the late Paul G. Allen. During the period of this ownership, the company expanded its conservation footprint, enhanced its community development programs, invested in its safari camp infrastructure, and reinforced its position as a leading operator in the South Luangwa Valley. All such growth and conservation initiatives were made possible through the dedication of the company's management and staff, a combination of the company's revenues, contributions from Vulcan Inc. or the Allen Estate, and guest conservation supplements.

In 2023, the company was acquired by a U.S.-based entity controlled by Brooke and Corby Robertson III who had prior business relationships with Mr. Allen and shares his commitment to conservation. The conservation and community programs established during the tenure of the Allen Estate ownership period continue to form an integral part of the company’s ethos and will remain funded by the current owners together with guests’ conservation supplements.
