Every November, the same family herd of wild elephants walks through the open reception of Mfuwe Lodge on their way to the wild mango trees on the other side. The lodge was built around them, not the other way around. They have been making this journey for as long as anyone can remember — and for the few weeks it happens, Mfuwe Lodge becomes one of the most extraordinary places to stay in Africa.
