Photography Focus
Your guide. Your vehicle. Your light. Six nights inside one of Africa’s great photography destinations.
This package was designed for a specific kind of traveler — the photographer, professional, amateur or otherwise, who understands that great wildlife images are not made in a hurry. It's so good, this package is really for anyone.
South Luangwa is one of the finest photography destinations on the continent: extraordinary leopard frequency, elephant in scale and intimacy, wild dogs, carmine bee-eaters, backdrops, vegetation, and a quality of dry-season light that photographers return for year after year. What it rewards above all else is time, patience, and a guide who understands both.
The Photography Focus circuit gives a group of four or five guests their own dedicated private guide and vehicle for six nights — the same guide throughout, positioned entirely for photography. No shared vehicles, no compromise on sighting time, no moving on before the moment has fully developed. The itinerary moves through four of our strongest photographic camps: Kuyenda for immediate immersion in the bush, Chindeni for leopard and the sweeping lagoon, Bilimungwe for the waterhole and woodland light, and Chamilandu for the intimate lagoon finale and extraordinary birdlife. Each camp offers completely different photography opportunities — different wildlife concentrations, different light conditions, different landscapes, different moods.
One night is complimentary, applied to the lowest-rated night on the itinerary. The private guide and vehicle — normally $600 per day — is included in the package rate, working out to approximately $150 per person per day across a group of four. In any other context in Africa, this package is serious value for those that know photography.
